Mrs. Irene Woods Dies Sunday
 
Mrs. Irene W. Woods,  71, 1411 Heritage Lane, Sterling, died Sunday morning at Community Hospital. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Melvin-Schilling Funeral Home with the Rev. Jean W. Saltzman, pastor of Wesley United Methodist Church of Sterling officiating. Burial will be in Tampico Memorial Cemetery.  Visitation will be Tuesday from 1-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.  A memorial has been established.
 
She was born July 25, 1906, in St. Louis, Mo., the daughter of Car  C. and Amy I. Brown Walker.  She married John H. Woods on June 25, 1927 in Sterling and the couple resided their entire lives in the Sterling-Tampico area.  She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and the Morning Star Chapter 382 Order of Eastern Star.
 
Survivors include her husband, two daughters, Mrs. Nathan (Shirley) Boals of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Mrs. Claude (Dorothy) Merrill of Sterling; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, William Trump of  Longmont, Colo., and one sister, Mrs. Dorothy Sprout of Binghamton, N.Y.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter.
