Mildred L. Mitchell

Mildred L. Mitchell, age 89, formerly of Tampico, Illinois died Thursday, March 06, 2008, at Prophets Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Prophetstown, Illinois.

Mildred was born on September 27, 1919 in Deer Grove, Illinois, the daughter of John H. and Emma M. (Peterson) Renner. She worked for over 25 years at Tampico Grade School as the head cook, retiring in 1980. She was a member of the Methodist Church of Tampico, the Martha Circle at the church and the Walk to Emmaus at the church. She was also a member of Royal Neighbors.

She is survived by one son Reiley W. (Mary Sue) Smith of Erie, Illinois; one daughter Lynn (John) Marshall of Rock Falls, Illinois; five grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; one sister Mary Ellen Snyder of Rock Falls, Illinois and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son in infancy and two brothers.

Private funeral services were conducted on Monday, at 10:30 a.m. at the Garland Funeral Home in Tampico with the Rev. Monty Fox, pastor of the United Methodist Church of Tampico, officiating. Burial was in Tampico Memorial Cemetery.

Private services were held Monday in the Garland Funeral Home, Tampico, with the Rev. Monty Fox, pastor of the United Methodist Church of Tampico, officiating. Burial was in Tampico Memorial Cemetery.
