ALPHONSE  HVALGREN
 
Prophetstown: -  Alphonse Hvalgren, 93, of Prophetstown, died Monday morning at Prophets Riverview Good Samaritan Center.
 
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Garden Chapel with Rev. Richard Dow, pastor of the First Lutheran Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday evening.  A memorial has been established.
 
Alphonse was born April 29, 1892 in Skallinge, Sweden, the son of Emil and Josephine (Johansdotter) Hvalgren. He was educated in Sweden, moving to the U.S. in 1913.  On Dec. 15, 1920 he married Hulda Gustafson of Skallinge, Sweden in Moline.  The deceased farmed in the Prophetstown Community until 1952 when they moved to Prophetstown.
 
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Dwight (Lillian) Parker of Lyndon, Mrs. Anna Wheat of Prophetstown, and Mrs. Thein (Edith) Wah of San Antonio, Texas, nine granchildren, seven great grandchildren; one sister, Anna and two brothers, Fingal and Asvin all of Sweden.

He was preceded in death by his wife in 1981, one great grandson, one brother and two sisters.
