DAVID E. HAENNI



Sterling: Funeral services will be held Friday at the Allen Funeral Home for David E. Haenni, 86, of 511 12th Ave., died in his home Tuesday. Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Tampico.


He was born February 8, 1924 in Staunton, son of Fritz and Christine Krieb Haenni. He married Mary G. Henrekin, Sept. 6, 1946 in Tampico. He was in the Army during World War II, a member of the Sterling VFW and Ducks Unlimited, a member of the Sterling Fire Dept., for 16 ½ years, retiring in 1976.


Survived by his wife, Mary G., two sons, Brian and John of Sterling; two daughters, Kathy Olalde, Rock Falls, Mary, Sterling; eight grandchildren; one brother Arthur, Staunton, and two sisters, Ruth Essary of Wood River and Bonerva Haenni of Moro, several nieces and nephews.


He was preceded by his parents and four brothers.
