Callahan-Van De Velde Reception Saturday

A reception was held Saturday afternoon at the Miami banquet room in Sterling in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Van De Velde who were married at the St. Mary's church, Tampico, that morning.

The bride is the former Rita Mae Callahan.

There were 85 relatives and friends attending.

The serving table was decorated with two bouquets in low bowls of pink roses and white gladioli at each end, three white candles in crystal holders on each side and in the center, a three tier wedding cake decorated in white, green and yelllow rose buds. Surrounding the cake was greenery and pink glads. The cake was topped with a bride and bridegroom under an archway.  The bridal couple made the initial cut.

The many gifts were cared for by her cousin, Mrs. Charles Brown, jr., of Sterling, and their sister-in-law, Mrs. Virgil Van De Velde was in charge of the guest book.
