CELEBRATE THEIR GOLDEN ANNIVERSARY

Mr. an Mrs. Harlow SMITH who reside five miles north west of here are quietly celbrating their golden wedding anniversary today (Friday) by having a gathering of the family. Mr. SMITH is confined to his bed with sickness or the notable event  be celebrated more largely.

Mr. and Mrs. SMITH are old residents of Hume having lived in that township thirty nine years. He is widely known as a successful farmer and big stock raiser and he owns several large, valuable farms in that township. The aged couple were married at Lyndon Dec. 2, fifty years ago. He was born in  Preston, Ontario, seventy-four  years ago May 19, and Mrs. SMITH is his junior by seven years having been born in Engalnd sixty-seven years ago Oct. 5. Mr. SMITH came to Prophetstown when he was twenty years old and later moved to Hume.

There are six children in the family. Mrs. T. L. ROUND, Mrs. Fred BROWN, Mrs. B. B. SMITH, Mrs. James FERRILL, W. N. and Herbert SMITH. It is the wish of the many friends of Mr. and Mrs. SMITH that many more anniversaries may be celebrated by the aged couple.
