VILLAGE OF GALT

On the southwest quarter of section 24, in January, 1855, John Galt, and others had platted a village to which was given the name of Galt. It is the first station west of Sterling, and is surrounded by a fine farming country. For a time the village seemed to flourish, but its proximity to Sterling and Morrison has tended to retard its growth.
