Milton Gerber of Hooppole will celebrate his 90th birthday on February 18, 2008. His family would like to have a card shower for him so they can fill a scrapbook with cards and notes from friends and family. You can send your card to him at 25331 E. 2600 St., Prophetstown, IL 61277.


Mr. Gerber was born to Frank and Laura Gerber on a farm near Hooppole, IL on February 18, 1918, the oldest of five children. He married Ferne Wolf on March 27, 1941 in Clinton, IA. Mr. Gerber farmed in the Hooppole area for 64 years retiring in 2005 at the age of 87. He is a member of Calvary E. C. Church in Hooppole serving for over 40 years as Sunday School superintendent, also Sunday School teacher and church trustee. He has been a member of Farm Bureau for over 50 years. He is an avid reader and has read the Bible many times.


His family includes three sons, Edwin (Kay) Gerber of Hooppole, Gary (Laura) Gerber also of Hooppole and Merle (Marcia ) Gerber of Moline, ten grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and one deceased great grandchild.
