Articles & Local History > 1883 - Brewer's Dog bites J. Myers

Tampico Tornado - June 2, 1883

While Mr. John Myers was returning home from church last Sunday, and as he was waiting at the corner of Lincoln and Market streets for a team to pass, Mr. Brewer;s dog ran from under the wagon and bit him on the leg just above and back of the knee. The wound was quite deep and it may prove an ugly one. The dog has a reputation for being cross, and has before attempted to attack persons when in town, He should be kept at home or put out of the way. There is altogether too many dogs about here and a little thinning out among them might prove a benefit and a blessing to our citizens.
