HOG CHOLERA RAGING IN THIS VICINITY

Hog cholera with its terrible destructive ravages to the farmers herds and pocket books has broken out in Tampico and vicinty. Shuler STEADMAN who lives north of town lost twenty seven head. J. DEGMAN who lives near him lost all of his and R. SAUER south of town who bought some hogs from Aaron POPE who lives in the affected district has lost a number and they are still dying at the rate of several a day. Mert OLSSON's herd is also said to be affected. Everything has been done by the farmers to check the disease but to little avail.
