FATHER WEBER TO LEAVE

Has Been Assigned to a Parish at Somanauk. Father Du Four Come Here.

Father P. J. WEBER who has been the pastor of St. Mary's church here for the past six years received notice last Friday from Archibishop QUIGLEY of Chicago that he would take charge of the parish at Somanauk, Ill. He will preach his farewell sermon next Sunday and leave for the new parish some time during that week. Rev. Father L DuFour of Chicago will take charge of the parish here. He arrived here Monday and spent the day looking over the parish and getting acquainted with some of the parishioners returning to Chicago the same day. He will be here soon, to take up his permanent residence. Father Du Four is about fifty years old and is  a pleasant man who has already made a good impression, he is a priest that the parish here will be proud of. He was ordained twenty-two years ago and for a number of years was assistant priest at Freeport. Two years ago he was transered to St.Agatha's church Chicago where he has been assistant. This is the first parish over which he has had complete charge.

Father P. J. Weber when he leaves can look back to his work here with pride. He has builded (sic) a handsome new church and labored zealously to build up the parish until the charge here is a good strong one. The charge at Somanauk is a larger one with increased burdens and  responsibilities but it comes as a deserved promotion and as a recognition of his valuable wervices here. His many friends both among the parishioners and citizens will regret to see him leave.
