MASON REEVES PROMOTED

H. E. CAIN has received a newspaper clipping from his sister, Mrs. Liva HEIN, of Washington, D. C. stating that Rear Admiral Joseph M. REEVES will be relieved from the command of the aircraft squadrons of the battle fleet, and will proceed to Washington and assume duty at the Navy Department as a member of general board. Admiral REEVES is a former Tampico boy and well known to many of the older residents of this vicinity. He is a graduate of the Tampico High School of the class of 1890. He has had an active career in the Navy, among some of his experiences was that of serving as an officer on board the battleship Oregon when that vessel made her historic run from San Francisco to Cuba in the Spanish American War.
