November 29, 1917 J.W. HIXSON received word while in Columbus, South Dakota, that his brother, Oscar died Nov. 16, in Hilsdale, Iowa at the age of 81 and was buried near the home of his daughter at Blanchard, Iowa. His sons, Ed HIXSON and wife and Fred HIXSON wne from Dakota and reached his bedside before he died. They returned via Tampico last Friday and visted at the home of J.W. HIXSON and from here went to Rock Falls for a visit with Mrs. D.P. ALDRICH. Oscar HIXSON was one of the old settlers of this vicinity and is known to the older inhabitants.
