Tampico Tornado - Thursday, March 28, 1957

The Tampico Grange held a social meeting and hard time party at the Legion Hall Thursday evening. A  picnic supper was served and the time spent in playing cards and visiting.

The Happy Neighbor club met Thursday at the home of Mrs. Hattie KERBER in Rock Falls. A picnic dinner was served at noon. Following a a short business meeting the afternoon was spent in visiting. The hostess served a lunch before the ladies left for their homes.

The Girl Scouts met last Wednesday afternoon after school. Sharon BRUDER and Sue SORRELLS were guests. The scouts are still taking orders for cookies and would like  to thank those who have already ordered. An Easter party on April 17th was discussed - Shirley Kay ENGELKENS, secretary.

The Fellowship met in St. Paul's Lutheran church in Yorktown last Wednesday evening. Rev. A. H.  LANDGREBE conducted the devotional period and gave a short talk. During the business meeting conducted by Carl MELTON, it was decided to hold the April meeting on the 24th. Oscar KOENING showed slides during the social hour. A potluck lunch was served.

The Philathea society of the Baptist church met Thursday afternoon in the home of Mrs. Harold ANDERSON.

Mrs. Wilbur GENTZ conducted the devotional period and the business meeting. The missionary lesson was presented by Mrs. E. W. OSBORNE, Mrs. Mabel SMITH and Mrs. Harold ANDERSON.
