HOSPITAL SCHEME'S BACKERS ON BOARD

Four supporters of the Sterling community hospital authority were appointed yesterday by Whiteside County Judge Walter STEVENS to serve on the authority's board of trustees.

Judge STEVENS said he appointed backers of the plan because opponents of the proposal had offered no suggestions or recommendations.

The authority was approved in a special election two weeks ago by a 35-votte margin, and hs been appealed to the Illinois Supreme court by opponents in rural areas affected by the plan.

Appointed were Clarence ALLEN, Rock Falls farmer; Mrs. Lois NICHOLSON, Coleta; Harry CHAPIN, Tampico, and Fred GOBLE, Milledgevill.

Sterling Mayor W. B. WHETZEL has named Larry WHEELER and Edward McGINN to the board, and Rock Falls Mayor Frank TRAGER appointed Harry VIREN, CIO president and Arthur DEEM.
