I remember when I was a child my parents took me to Tampico to see this huge display of Christmas Lights, it seemed like every house in the country had lights around their house. I was going to bring my nieces over to see it on Dec. 7th. Could somebody let me know if they are still decorating the houses like they did back when i was little.

I understand it was magnificent. The Egerts were well-known for their lighting display. However, they have moved away after Mr. Egerts' death. The town still lights up and the Johnson farm south on Matznick road is really something to see. If you get the Echo newpaper, keep an an eye open. I will be doing an article on the Johnson's display. They are only lighting on Fri-Sat & Sun starting about 5:30p. Some of the families have their lights up, but not all are up yet. The Brown family on the east side had a beautiful display last year and won one of the prizes for yard decorations. To date, their lights aren't up yet. There are many light displays out, but you might want to wait a little longer until folks have time to get them all up. I don't think we were expecting such nasty weather so soon!
