I Have been researching for years and have found that the wife of William McKenzie of Port Henry, NY Was a descendant of Stephen Hopkins of Plymouth Colony fame. Her name was Deborah Towner. IN her Ancestral line is Reliance Hopkins b. 1709 .

Reliance married David Crosby and that family moved to Putnam Co. NY. Their dau. Sarah married Ithiel Towner, father of Deborah (Towner)McKenzie.

I know we don’t choose our ancestors yet still it is fun to come across this kind if info.
There are probably lots of McKenzie descendants in the Tampico area.

Folks descended from
John and Oliver McKenzie are the McKenzies related to Deborah Towner who married Wm McKenzie.

Reliance Hopkins B 1709 wed David Crosby 1735 in Harwich Massachusetts Their daughter Sarah Crosby born 1747 in Harwich married Ithiel Towner.

The gold nugget in this discovery was the will of Ithiel Towner who mentions his dau "Deborah McKinzey living in High Crown Point". AND the will of David Crosby who mentions his daughter Sarah Towner which is clearly legible in his 1809 will ( st. John's Canada )
See John McKenzie B. 6 aug 1794, port Henry, New York on wiki tree He is McKenzie-407.
