I ran across this site while searching my familys history. I was last in tampico about 12 years ago with my grandmother Lee Ann Kirst, at the time there were alot of family members there but we dont know about now. just wondered how everyone was doing. my grandmother still talks about it and wishes she knew how to reach some body but the number she had for uncle donnie has'nt been in service for a long time. if anybody has any information i could give her it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

I know Don Kirst quite well. I used to see him often when he lived in the apartment building, and now he is at Prophets Riverview Good Samaritan Center at 310 Mosher Drive in Prophetstown, IL 61277. The phone number for the center is: 815-537-5175. He eats at the same table in the cafeteria with a very dear friend of mine.
We have many of his drawings at the Leon Church. He sent them out there for anyone who would like to take one home with them. I believe that he does several drawings every day.
Just call the home and they can get a message to him, or contact me at jag1939@thewisp.net and I will be glad to give him a message. I don't know if he has a phone in his room or not, but you can either write or call the above. He is very mentally alert and a joy to visit with.
