Tampico Historical Society - Updates for Jan., 200
Feb 1, 2006
Wow! It's been a very busy month! The MESSAGE BOARD has really been active! We have received many contributions this month, both monetary and historical. Many thanks to all who contributed! The following is a list of the new entries on our website. For a direct link to all of them, see our WHAT'S NEW page http://www.tampicohistoricalsociety.citymax.com/page/page/1265290.htm NEW ENTRIES FOR JANUARY 2006 ANNOUNCEMENTS I have upgraded our site-search engine. It will now "read" pdf files. This should prove very beneficial to many since many of our "Family History Charts" are posted in pdf format. I recommend you do a site-search periodically (at least once/week) for surnames you are interested in. Often there is much history on a family incorporated into another family's biography or in the Town/Township histories. This is one of the perks of having these biographical sketches posted online, since the books do not index all surnames found in the book. Our site-search engine is automatically updated every Monday - more often if I have time to do it manually. I also recommend you sign up for our monthly newsletter. Once you sign up, you will receive a confirmation email. You MUST reply to this email in order to activate your registration. The Newsletter is a copy of the "What's New" section of the site, sent directly to your email. This is another FREE service offered. Updated "Contact" List The Ronald Reagan Birthplace/Museum begins its 2006 season in March (weekends only) and in April through October they will be open 7 days per week.
