TAHS Updates for July 2006

The goal of the TAHS website is to provide as much
historical, genealogical and local information to those
with an interest or roots in the Tampico, Yorktown, Thomas,
Hume, and Deer Grove areas. I welcome your comments and
contributions. This is a continual work-in-progress, so
please check back often. If you are researching family
history in this area, you may want to post a query on the
Message Board.

area. I will also help in any way I can by checking the
archives at the Tampico Area Historical Society & Museum.

Newspaper, Dec. 21, 1905. Tells of the mail carriers change
of route. Interesting how no "street names" were used.
Location was denoted by surname of family living there.

August 22 - Annual Pot Luck dinner. Community Bldg. 6p.m.
Bring a dish to share & own plateware. Special guest
appearance: "J. W. Glassburn," Founding Father of Tampico
(as portrayed by Gene Wright).
October 22 - 2nd Annual Yorktown Cemetery Walk. Tentatively
scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 22 at 2 p.m. Refreshments and
brief meeting afterwards at YT Community Bldg. Hosted by
April Hinton and Betty Glassburn.
