Hello all,
Wow! We are having such a great response to the Country School Program planned for our August 24, meeting. Please note a time change from our usual meeting time. We will meet at the Community Bldg. on W. Market St. at 6 p.m.(NOT at 7p.m.). It would be awful if anyone missed it because they came late. I apologize for my earlier Calendar that read the later time. SIX P.M., Tuesday, August 24th.
We will be talking about what it was like to teach in the rural schools, sharing personal experiences or remembrances from other family members. If you know of a school teacher still able to come, please invite them.
This is our annual Pot Luck, so please bring a dish to pass and your own table setting. We will provide a beverage.
If you would like to have a designated time for sharing, please contact me before the meeting. Pictures of the old schools would be wonderful. I will bring some of the old school ledgers that the teachers kept. If you have a year and school that you would like to see, contact me and I will bring it if we have it in our archives.
