Rainbow Stamp & Cachet

Feb 7, 2011

From Reagan Centennial 2011

From Reagan Centennial 2011
The rainbow stamp is exclusive to Tampico, IL. The photo was taken by Lloyd McElhiney on election Eve. It is a double rainbow, one of which appears to land directly on top of the birthplace apartment where Ronald Reagan was born. The next day, Mr. Reagan was elected president. Prophecy? A Washington correspondent noted that President Reagan kept a copy of that photo in his desk and pulled it out when he needed some inspiration.

You can only purchase this stamp from the Ronald Reagan Birthplace while supplies last. The stamp & cachet will be available again on Feb. 10, 2011 after the "unveiling ceremony" of the new Reagan Forever stamp. The ceremony will take place at 10:00 a.m. in the Birthplace with a Post Master from Kansas doing the unveiling.

First Day of Issue cancellations will be available at the Birthplace on Feb. 10, 2011 from 10a-4p.
