RONALD REAGAN BIRTHPLACE: Thank you to all the visitors who stopped in the Birthplace to learn all about the beginning history of our Greatest President - Ronald Reagan. The museum is on break for the winter months, HOWEVER, we are open by appointment and plan to be open on Friday and Saturday, Nov.24 & 25 (days after Thanksgiving) from 10 AM to 2 PM. Also be sure to visit in Feb. 6, 2018 for our all-day Birthday Party 10 AM to 4 PM. We will plan to open again weekends in March and then daily beginning April 1 from 10 to 4 and 1 to 4 on Sundays. Anyone wishing a tour now, please call me-Joan Johnson 815-622-8705 or e-mail ronaldreaganbirthplace@thewisp.net. We have had awesome guides this year and we are all willing to open the doors for anyone wishing more information on Ronald Reagan. I am in the process of updating the website. This has been quite a process since Google decided to drop their Picasa program. That is where I stored all of our photos and linked to them throughout the website. All of the photos were migrated to their new Google Photos program. In addition to adding the new links to photos, I am also trying to reformat all of the cemetery indexes we have on site. This is an extremely time-consuming process. Often 'life' calls me away before I can finish each step, and for that, I apologize! If you cannot find what you need during this transitional period, please feel free to contact me: tampicohistoricalsociety@gmail.com or call 815-590-2143.
If you are in the area, we hope you will join us at our November meeting. There is NO meeting in December.
A MESSAGE FROM OUR TAHS PRESIDENT & TREASURER: Dear Tampico Historical Society. We are very pleased to welcome you to our group. We value your opinions and input. We would love to have you join the membership of Tampico Area Historical Society, as well, if you would be interested. The annual dues are $10.00 or $15.00 for family (those over 50 years of age are eligible for a lifetime membership of only $50.00). If you are not interested in a membership, perhaps you might consider making a small donation to help with the many expenses. While everyone in the society volunteers their time, there are many other costs involved in keeping the Museum going, including building expenses, utilities, and general upkeep, both indoors and the outside lot.
