Reagan Mural
Reagan Mural
Information provided by Joan Johnson
In the fall of 1998 local artist, Don Kirst, assisted by Howard "Bud"
Thompson, painted a mural on the North side of the H C Pitney building
(where Ronald Reagan's father worked while living in Tampico.)
The mural is
a collage depicting President Reagan's life from Tampico to the White House.
This week, May 14, 2007, the art class from PLT High School refurbished the mural under the
sponsorship of the Moore Foundation and the Tampico Area Long Range Planning
Committee. The volunteers are to be commended for a fine job of bringing the
mural "back to life". Pictured are Prophetstown Mayor: Bud Thompson, Art
Teacher: Bob Deines, Students: Kristin Green, Anthony Fox, Tyler Scobee,
Cody Rogers, Kathy West, Jeff Wirsing, Rebecca Cole, Melissa Peck, Lindsay
Carpenter, Justin Lilly.
