Tampico Hardware Store

Tampico Hardware store. Submitted by Connie Essig. Denise – I have really enjoyed the Tampico web site and feel that I probably have something I should be contributing. In fact, I have boxes and boxes of Tampico pictures and letters from my relatives. Since no one else in the family wanted to collect these, I have kept them all. I grew up in Tampico. My dad- Bob Schmitt and my grandfather – Roy McKenzie owned the Tampico Hardware. When my Aunt Ferne Gillett died, I lived in the old family home for a short time and discovered a wonderful collection of pictures and letters and receipts from all the business in Tampico. I live in Washington, Illinois now but come to visit my Aunt Ruth Kelly every once in a while. Let me know if you are interested . Thanks Connie Essig
